Kaiser Elementary Recognized as 2022 State School of Character
Kaiser Elementary recently became one of only six elementary schools in Texas to earn the title of 2022 State School of Character from Character.org.
This unique distinction is a true testament to Kaiser’s dedication to creating a learning space where students are receiving a great education while becoming well-rounded, thoughtful leaders at their school.
“Receiving the School State of Character recognition means so much to Kaiser,” Kaiser Elementary Principal Betty Zavala said. “This has been a 5-year process as we worked hard to establish our Core Values and Learner Characteristics. We brought in our families, students, and teachers to ensure those core values were those that we could hold on to for years to come. We have established practices that celebrate the behaviors and academics of our students with our praise reports and VIP luncheons. These practices have given our community of learners tools and resources to be better citizens for themselves and each other.”
Families have seen first-hand the positive impact Kaiser’s core values and learner characteristics have had on student achievement, school culture and climate.
“I feel very proud that we belong to a School of Character,” Kaiser Elementary parent Ivon Lerma Lara said. “Kaiser’s administration and staff are very committed to its students and families and they do more than they should. The tutorials, academic nights, and classes for parents and students helps us a lot. Kaiser is always behind us and aware of what we need at home and at school.”
With all hands on deck, Kaiser Elementary Principal Betty Zavala is determined to make sure ROPED2LEARN comes to life each day and are sustainable core values for future Kaiser Cowboys.
“We are so proud of the hard work and collective commitment of the staff, students, and families at Kaiser. The outstanding character of everyone there is part of what is so special about this school,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “I’m so proud that Kaiser is being nationally recognized for the admirable and important work they are doing to ensure all students benefit from their education, academically and beyond.”
Klein ISD is elated to have another State School of Character under its wings and proudly recognizes Kaiser Elementary students, families, staff, and administration for their outstanding commitment to the integrity and character of its school community. Way to go, Cowboys!
